Our Story:

We are a young group of physiotherapists aiming at providing the best possible treatment for our patients, to allow optimal recovery in the shortest possible time. We believe in thorough evaluation in order to treat effectively. As first line practitioners, we can diagnose without a doctor’s referral. (Please just confirm with your medical aid, some medical aids require a referral from a GP or specialist for authorization.)

The Team:

  • Geraldine Glennie

Geraldine graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physiotherapy from Kovsies University in 2010, after which she did her community service year in rural Kimberley. Her heart was longing back to the less extreme heats of the seaside, and that's how she ended in Jeffreys Bay. After working in a well established pratice for almost two years, she was in the privileged position to take over ownership. She completed the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Course (Now Neuromuskulosketal Course) in 2013, and assisted during the last course presented in Port Elizabeth in 2019.

She has served on the committee of the Orthopaedic manual physiotherapy group of the South African Society of physiotherapy for the last three years, and was selected as treasurer for this group, as well as the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy course presented in Port Elizabeth in 2019.

Geraldine has a special interest in neck pain and headaches, and is passionate about trying to find the problem and solve the puzzle, in order to restore adequite function again.

She is a passionate crafter, and enjoys crocheting, crafting and painting in her spare time. She enjoys the outdoors, like camping and hiking, even though being a mom of two is her bigger past time when she is not at work.

Liesel qualified as a physiotherapist at Stellenbosch University  in 2006, followed by a year in Barberton to complete her year of community service.

Her next ten years were spent working in Cape Town, where she fell in love and developed a special interest in the area of aquatic physiotherapy.  During this time she attended various aquatic physiotherapy courses, gaining experience in the area of aquatic techniques, chronic pain management, inflammatory conditions, neurology and the rehabilitation of multiple orthopedic conditions.  Her own love for movement inspired further training in the BASI pilates method whilst in Cape Town, which she also incorporates whilst working with her patients in the water.

Liesel moved back to her home town Jeffreysbay with her family in 2017 to pursue a quieter pace of life and to give her children the high standard of living that she was able to experience as a child.

She joined the team at Glennie Physios in 2018 and recently completed the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Course in 2019.  Liesel is passionate about managing chronic pain, restoring function and helping people live their life to their fullest potential.

In her free time you will find her either running, on her mountain bike or spending time with her family on the beach.

  • Liesel Venter

  • Belinda Paetzold

Belinda graduated as a physiotherapist in 1991 from the University of Pretoria. After graduating she worked mainly at Unitas hospital with post operative orthopedic and medical rehab patients. She also did home visits and later on had her own practice.

Before moving abroad she worked for a year in a government hospital to gain more experience. She, with her family have lived in England, Portugal and Mozambique. They recently moved back to South Africa and have now settled in Jeffreysbay.

She is the newest member of the team and started working for Glennie physios in September 2019. She is enrolled to do the Orthopedic Manuel therapy course in 2020.

Marie has been the glue of this practice since 2013. She knows all the administrative ropes when it comes to dealing with patients, medical aids, or even injury on duty claims.

She always puts the patients needs first, and try to fit everyone in where best suits them. She is dynamic, and brilliant at managing the time tables of the physios, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly on a daily base.

When you phone for the practice, she is the friendly voice that answers and tends to your every need.

Apart from managing physios, she loves walking on the beach, and spending quality time with her family and 3 beautiful grandchildren.
